Sean Strickland once again demonstrated his high-level skill set at UFC on ESPN 48. He defeated unranked fighter Abus Magomedov in Las Vegas to remain among the top 10 of the middleweight rankings. Hollywood actor and director Mel Gibson also attended the UFC event. Strickland is known for his controversial nature and took some shots at the famed artist in his post-fight press interview.

Sean Strickland mocked Abus for poking him in the eye in the first minute. He also insulted the German fanbase with the eye-poke comment. A reporter asked about fighting in front of Gibson. Sean said, “I’m surprised he wasn’t rooting for Germany. Mel Gibson is the f**king man. I don’t think Mel Gibson is racist, I think he is f**king nuts.” It started as if Strickland were taking shots at Gibson. However, he stated that he was joking about it the entire time.

Strickland struggled in the first round with Magomedov’s striking output. However, things changed when his cornermen informed him of a counterstrike that might alter the direction of the fight. Strickland employed counterpunching to hurt Magomedov and continued on the pressure with constant output. Magomedov eventually gave up on the continuous pressure, and Strickland won the bout.

After the fight, Strickland demanded a title match and expressed love for his country. Strickland is currently on a two-fight winning streak and could potentially fight for the title if he can get one more win. The fighter competes multiple times a year and has a fan-favorite fighting style with constant trash talk and pressure in his fights.

Controversial fighter Sean Strickland commented on women in the recent pre-fight presser. He wanted the next President of the United States to put them back into the kitchen. On his Twitter handle, he addressed the comments once again.

He wrote, “Funny how many people got offended by “keep women in the kitchen”  LISTEN! YOUR KIDS SUCK. You’re children are being raised and brainwashed the leftist educational system with the help of tiktok. NO MORALS or VALUES.The way I grew up on the west coast. Destroying America.”

Strickland revealed his hatred of TikTok for brainwashing the American kids. He wanted women to take care of their children instead of working. After defeating Abus Magomedov, Strickland made jokes about Mel Gibson for attending the UFC event. He reiterated his love for the United States and considered himself a libertarian.
