“Likes to do a lot of cocaine”- Sean Strickland sides with Jon Jones for having a good time, but doesn’t advocate ‘choking women’

Sean Strickland is a divisive personality in the MMA world, and for good reason. He expresses radical beliefs and dark humor on purpose. Having said that, he is a fantastic fighter. The fighter has faced some of the best middleweights in the world and is undefeated in the division.

Since returning to the middleweight division following a great run at welterweight, Strickland has won six straight fights and is 5-0. The No. 8 ranked fighter in the middleweight division as per the MMA Fighting Global Rankings is coming off victories over Jack Hermansson and Uriah Hall in two major events. He appeared to be eyeing a fight with Paulo Costa but claimed on social media that the UFC was not interested in putting one together.

Pereira appears to be getting special treatment from the UFC, as this will be his eighth career MMA fight and third debut in the octagon. “Po Atan” has two kickboxing victories over current middleweight champion Israel Adesanya, the most recent of which was a brutal knockout in March 2017. Pereira has won a flying knee knockout over Andreas Michailidis at UFC 268 and a unanimous decision over Bruno Silva at UFC Vegas 50 earlier this month since joining the UFC.

In a recent interview, with Helen Lee, Jon Jones, according to Sean Strickland, is one of the best fighters of all time. He couldn’t help but make a few digs at the former light heavyweight champion, though. Strickland has stated that he is a fan of ‘Bones,’ but not because he likes to “choke” ladies, referring to Jones’ out-of-cage conflicts with law enforcement.

He stated, 

“Here’s the thing about Jon Jones. He hits women. The guy likes to do a lot of cocaine and have a good time. I respect the good time part, not the hitting women. He did get popped for steroids, which I think should ban you for life, but Jon Jones for me is probably one of the greatest fighters of all time, besides the fact he likes to choke women.”

Sean always keeps himself out by making remarkable comments which can be perceived in many different ways. He was recently suspended from Twitter, just in time for June, the world’s annual Pride month. Strickland targeted the trans community in a series of tweets. The No. 4 rated UFC middleweight has stated that he does not favor transgender individuals, even claiming that it is a mental illness.
