Sean Strickland is known for his brash persona and unapologetic demeanor. Recently, in a scathing verbal assault, the former middleweight champion lashed out at heavyweight champion Jon Jones. Strickland did not mince words when addressing Jones’ reluctance to face Tom Aspinall.
Sean Strickland, never one to shy away from controversy, branded Jones a “piece of sh*t.” He adamantly believed the heavyweight champion should face Aspinall, the interim titleholder. ‘Tarzan’ believes this fight made sense instead of waiting for a potential bout with Stipe Miocic.
At the end of the day, Jon Jones is a piece of sh*t. The whole world knows that. We don't need to reiterate his past. He needs to sack up, fight Aspinall and get this sh*t done.Sean Strickland via The Schmo

Strickland’s tirade against Jones stems from the champion’s seeming hesitancy to unify the titles. Aspinall recently won the interim belt by knocking out Sergie Pavlovich. Many believe the logical step is for Jones to face the Englishman in a title unification bout. Currently, Jon Jones is recovering from two back-to-back surgeries and will likely face Miocic on his return.
Strickland vehemently opposed this decision. He asserted that Jones should prioritize unifying the division rather than pursuing legacy fights. The outburst highlighted Strickland’s unwavering stance on fighters’ responsibilities as champions. However, his enthusiasm may be misguided as the UFC top brass is also adamant about making the Jones vs. Miocic fight.
