Shavkat Rakhmonov is one of the deadliest fighters in the UFC. The undefeated welterweight recently submitted Stephen Thompson at UFC 296, and he is the first one to do so. After the victory, Rakhmonov called for a title shot against Leon Edwards.

Before UFC 296, Influencer journalist Nina Marie Daniele interviewed Rakhmonov. In the interview, Daniel asked Rakhmonov about his favorite character from the world-famous Game of Thrones series. This is what he said.

Rakhmonov first thought about having similarities with one of the series’ protagonists, Jon Snow, played by Kit Harrington. However, he eventually agreed that he had more in common with the ‘White Walkers’, the antagonist group of the series. Daniel also agreed with the assessment as Rakhmonov was cold in his fight approach like the White Walkers, as he has a 100% finish rate.

Even though Rakhmonov won against Thompson at UFC 296, it was not easy. He suffered an ankle injury weeks before the fight, limiting his striking. However, his impressive grappling prowess got him the victory. He will have surgery on his ankle very soon.

The victory over Thompson pushed him to third in the welterweight rankings. Moreover, he received a hero’s welcome when he returned to his native Kazakhstan. Only Belal Muhammad and Kamaru Usman are ahead of Rakhmonov in the welterweight rankings.

Shavkat Rakhmonov, the third-ranked UFC welterweight, is an enigma. He is a well-rounded fighter with equally impressive grappling and striking. Moreover, he likes to ride horses; horse meat is his favorite food. In addition to fighting and horse riding, Rakhmonov also finds time to watch movies and read books.

In the interview with Nina Marie Daniele, Shavkat Rakhmonov said he was a movie buff and an avid reader. Rakhmonov likes two trilogy film series. Both trilogies were adaptations of J.R.R. Tolkien’s children’s books. Rakhmonov’s favorite film series are The Lord of the Rings trilogy and The Hobbit Trilogy.

The film trilogies are critical and commercial successes and even have many warrior characters in them. Rakhmonov, being the fighter he is, might have found similarities with the characters in the movie. He already said he identifies with the White Walkers of Game of Thrones. In the film trilogies, there are characters like Legolas, Aragorn, and Boromir, among others, who are noble warriors.
