Stephen A Smith attacked for ‘soft’ coverage of Dana White slap scandal by Jemele Hill

While Dana White hasn’t made any excuses for slapping his wife on New Year’s Eve, former ESPN personality Jemele Hill believes the rest of the sports industry is. Hill recently put ESPN on blast for their “soft” coverage of the controversial incident.

Dana White slapping his wife on New Year’s Eve is one of the biggest sports scandals in the world right now but the mainstream media clearly haven’t painted it that way. Jemele Hill, a former ESPN personality went at the Disney-owned sports network for giving White the pass for his domestic abuse scandal.

“Coverage of the incident has overall been pretty soft,” wrote Hill. “Having worked at ESPN for 12 years, I know intimately the difference between cursory coverage and a nonstop national conversation fueled by the massive sports media machine.”

The former ESPN host made example of how the Kyrie Irving – Anti-Semitism controversy was dealt with to how UFC head honcho’s case. Jemele Hill was fired from ESPN for her bold views on Donald Trump. She is currently a contributing writer for The Atlantic and hosts her own podcast. Stephen A Smith and Molly Qerim spoke about White’s scandal on “First Take”.

UFC fighter Daniel Cormier reacts to Dana White incident

After his retirement from fighting, Daniel Cormier decided to become a full-time analyst/commentator for UFC. DC also works for ESPN as an analyst and does pre and post-fight shows. The former two-division champ finally gave his thoughts on his friend, White’s actions on NYE.

“Dana White was wrong. He told you he was wrong. We have long been told our entire lives that we are not supposed to put our hands on women,” said the former fighter. The fighter was also puzzled after seeing several fans and fighters defending White’s actions. The UFC boss himself has come out to admit he was wrong to lay hands on his wife.

“Some fighters are trying to defend him, he doesn’t defend himself. Why should anyone go to defend an action that he is saying, ‘I was wrong’? added Cormier. The commentator took to his show DC&RC to give his thoughts on White’s recent scandal.
