Dana White recently announced the main event for UFC 300 between Alex Pereira and Jamahal Hill. Fight fans did not like the fight for the main event. Now, a video went viral after the announcement in which Hollywood actor and martial arts Steven Seagal showed techniques to Pereira. Seagal has once claimed to teach Anderson Silva the front kick to knock out Vitor Belfort.

Fight fans have a contentious relationship with Seagal. His recent video with Pereira earned fans’ wrath. In the video, Seagal showed Pereira an unconventional technique to block punches. Seagal said in the video that the technique effectively launches a quick counterattack. Pereira is a Glory Hall of Fame kickboxer, and therefore, fight fans found it weird to see Seagal teach Pereira.

Interestingly, Seagal’s technique involved Pereira using his left hand, which is similar to his left hook. Pereira has the most destructive left hook in combat sports. He has used the left hook to defeat Israel Adesanya, Sean Strickland, and Jiri Prochazka.

Even though Seagal has a contentious relationship with fight fans, he has a good relationship with UFC fighters. In addition to Silva, Seagal has acquaintances with Islam Makhachev and Luke Rockhold, among others. Makhachev met with Seagal backstage after he knocked out Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 294.

Alex Pereira is the most decorated kickboxer to ever compete in the UFC. Before he became a two-division champion in the UFC, he was a simultaneous two-division champion at Glory Kickboxing. Therefore, fight fans found it confusing to see Alex Pereira learning techniques from Steven Seagal in a recent video.

Seagal is a black belt in Aikido, but his expertise in Mixed Martial Arts is suspect. Nonetheless, fight fans trolled Seagal on social media after the video of him training Pereira surfaced. See how the fans reacted to the video below.

Even though Alex Pereira is a two-division UFC champion, he does not have a title defense. He will look to bag his first title defense against Jamahal Hill at UFC 300. Moreover, the fight with Hill will also be Pereira’s sixth straight fight which is against a champion or former champion in the UFC.
