“Jon killed him” – Things go south seconds after Jon Jones and Israel Adesanya squash beef

After the Smesh Brothers, the MMA world is witnessing another weird fighter duo. Former rivals and UFC champions Israel Adesanya and Jon Jones seem to have resolved their differences. Israel Adesanya took to META’s newly launched app Threads and posted a video of him and Jones chilling together. However, things might have gone south right after the duo buried their hatchet.

UFC consensus G.O.A.T Jon Jones and middleweight champion Israel Adesanya have shared a fierce rivalry for the last couple of years. Both had several intense back-and-forth arguments online and were very close to taking their dispute inside the octagon. Jones at the time was fighting in the light heavyweight division and fans assumed Adesanya would move up a division to challenge Jones. While the ‘Stylebender’ did move up a division, Jones had already vacated the belt to prepare for his journey in the heavyweight division.

With the Stylebender losing to Jan Blachowicz and Jones out of the equation, the fierce rivalry slowly started dying down. Gradually Jones appreciated Adesanya in a few interviews and called him a star. Izzy also gave props to Jones for the quick submission at his heavyweight debut. While the feud had disappeared, fans never expected them to be friends due to their past. However, Adesanya’s latest post on threads took everyone by surprise.

Adesanya posted a video of him chilling with Jon Jones on Threads and both fighters displayed great respect towards the other in the video. The news of the duo burying their hatchet and starting anew has astonished fight fans. However, both fighters might have also had a small tussle according to Adesanya’s recent post.

Jon Jones and Israel Adesanya get into a scuffle after squashing their beef

UFC middleweight champion Israel Adesanya had everyone surprised with his latest post on Threads. The Stylebender seems to have resolved issues with heavyweight champion Jon Jones and squashed their beef. Adesanya uploaded a video of him with Jones chilling in Vegas where both fighters showed each other respect. Adesanya also brought up his run-in with rival Alex Pereira at the airport before introducing Jones in the video.

While the beef has been officially squashed both fighters could not help themselves and tested each other. Jones and Adesanya engaged in a friendly scuffle where they had a very light mini sparring session. Adesanya even took to Twitter and posted a picture of them sparring leading fans to make fun of the situation.

“Boys will be boys…gats playfully test each other’s skill,” posted one user. “No Jon killed him,” added another user speculating on the results of their friendly fight. While Jones and Adesanya have officially squashed their beef fans can expect clips of them training together to pop up very soon. It would certainly help Israel Adesanya as he will be soon defending his belt at UFC 293.
