Conor McGregor has always been very outspoken, never shying away from making statements that land him in controversy. As time passes by, McGregor has become even more unhinged, calling out many people.
Earlier this year, he went off on viral sensation, Hasbulla. Although, one of his funnier moments came back in 2016, when he trash talked Cristiano Ronaldo, who is arguably the greatest footballer of all time. The Irishman’s comments towards the footballer were a bit strange since the duo had a friendly meeting before Conor’s rematch against Nate Diaz at UFC 202.
CR7 visited McGregor as he was preparing for Nate Diaz who had defeated ‘The Notorious’ in their first meeting. The pair stepped into the octagon together and posed for a couple of photos. Later, when asked about the meeting, McGregor said, “He has the pose. I went more lats, he went more abs.”
Joking further, McGregor added, “I’d slap the head off him but he’s a very nice guy and he was in tremendous shape, he’s a true athlete.” McGregor revealed that this meeting came into fruition after Ronaldo saw Conor wear his underwear brand at a weigh-in.
It seems that despite his provocative statement, the two get along well. They have both had overwhelming success in their respective sports and business ventures. The two legends have no real reason for hostility.
