Sean Strickland is brash and outspoken and it is one of the reasons why fans love him. More than his fighting style, fight fans identify with the authenticity of Strickland. Strickland recently made headlines when he went off at MMA Fighting’s Alexander K Lee during media day for UFC 297. Lee brought up past comments about sexuality that Strickland made, and it made Strickland go wild.

Strickland’s remarks on the LGBT community have been at loggerheads with the woke media for apparent anti-gay and anti-trans rhetoric. The recent remark caught the attention of Canadian TikTok star and freelance journalist Rachel Gilmore. Gilmore advocated the cancellation of the UFC for their lack of action against Strickland for his remarks.

Unlike major sports promotions like the NBA, NFL, and MLB in the USA, the UFC does not censor their athletes. It is one of the reasons why the conservative sections of the American public love Dana White and the UFC. Strickland himself has talked about it during his appearance on the FULLSEND podcast.

Sean Strickland has no censor. He has verbally attacked Ian Garry, Israel Adesanya, and Dricus Du Plessis, among others, on sensitive matters. For the UFC, Strickland’s tirade on the reporter was just another Tuesday. However, Strickland always respects his opponents for their skills. He gave props to Israel Adesanya as a fighter even though he has personal animosity towards him.

Fight fans react to TikTok influencers attempt to cancel the UFC

Cancel culture is a big problem in the USA. The woke media have canceled many names in the sporting and entertainment world with it. They even tried to cancel UFC commentator and comedian Joe Rogan as they accused him of racism. However, that backfired as many black athletes in the UFC stood by Rogan, and the plan failed.
