“That’s my goal,” Tom Aspinall on his way to becoming one of the best fighters in the world ahead of UFC London
Tom Aspinall
UFC heavyweight Tom Aspinall is looking for a serious challenge ahead of another UFC London fight card when he will face Curtis Blaydes which will potentially give Aspinall the chance of a new biggest victory of his career after he last submitted Alexander Volkov in the opening round. Aspinall currently is undefeated in the UFC with other wins being over the likes of Andrei Arlovski, Sergey Spivak and Alan Baudot. Aspinall is currently #6 in the official UFC rankings of the heavyweight division.
Aspinall’s opponent Curtis Blaydes has now been fighting the top competition in the UFC for more than 6 years now. A seasoned wrestler who likes to ground and pound whilst smartly avoiding the damage by exchanging shots on the feet, Blaydes proved in his last fight that he can knock out anyone in a stand-up exchange as well as he did against Chris Daukaus in the second round. With that said, Blaydes has become a much more dangerous opponent.
Tom Aspinall believes he is nowhere close to greatness as of now and is just getting started
In an interview with UFC Hall of Famer and fellow Englishman Michael Bisping, Tom Aspinall talks about the advantage of being a heavyweight while making weight, his fight against Curtis Blaydes, the importance of pull-ups exercise and much more. Aspinall then got a little deeper about his ambitions and here’s what he said with strong conviction.
“I’m on the run to being one of the best fighters to ever walk on the face of the Earth, that’s my goal,” says Aspinall. “And I absolutely don’t think I made it at all, this is where it starts and I am so like motivated and happy and humble for what I have gotten…” he continued.
