The revelation comes amid persistent rumors and interest in a heavyweight championship fight between current champion Jon Jones and former champion Stipe Miocic. UFC CEO Dana White remains adamant on promoting this fight However, it appears that the fighters’ perspectives diverge from the public narrative. As per Aspinall, his manager received the call about the UFC 300 fight against Stipe Miocic a while back. This is what he posted:

While we are talking about @stipemiocic  my manager was contacted by the UFC asking if I’d like to fight him on Apr 13th. I, of course, accepted.

Aspinall won the interim UFC heavyweight championship in November. He had shown a readiness to face Miocic at UFC 300. It was a key milestone for the organization. To his astonishment, Miocic allegedly refused the offer, preferring to fight Jon Jones.

The issue complicates the situation in the already challenging heavyweight division. This is especially complicated because Jon Jones will be out until mid-2024 due to a torn pectoral muscle and elbow surgery. Aspinall remains in a state of uncertainty, with no clear path to a championship shot despite winning the interim title.

Tom Aspinall is now over trying to get a fight against Stipe Miocic or Jon Jones

Tom Aspinall’s recent public words reflect his unhappiness with the UFC’s matchmaking choices. He has previously expressed reservations about the lack of a defined objectivity in selecting the title contenders. Despite holding an interim championship, Aspinall appears to have difficulty obtaining a high-profile match confirming his status as a true titleholder.

On that note. I will stop crying, accept it ain’t gonna happen and enjoy the fight that me and all the other fans want to see. Legend vs legend for the heavyweight title. Maximum respect guys. Yay.
