“Surgery early next week”- Tom Aspinall reveals why there’s been a delay in treating his knee

Tom Aspinall x Curtis Blaydes
Tom Aspinall had high hopes going into the main event of UFC London last week against Curtis Blaydes. The homegrown hero was welcomed with a huge roar by the British fans but unfortunately, the fight didn’t go as expected. As the fight started, Aspinall landed some good leg kicks and while doing that fell on the ground holding his right knee.
It was clear that the fighter suffered a serious injury and the fight was stopped. The medical staff quickly ran to provide support and Blaydes was announced the winner via TKO.
Tom Aspinall updates about an upcoming MRI scan of his injured knee

Aspinall has been quiet since he suffered that horrific injury but decided to break the silence on this matter through a video message.
The heavyweight fighter took his official Twitter handle in order to talk about how he’s been doing and what are next plans to get his knee fixed. Aspinall mentioned that he had a discussion with his doctor who told him to wait. According to the fighter, in order to get a correct MRI scan, the swelling will have to decrease which is taking time. Aspinall revealed that the scan will take place this weekend and he will also undergo surgery the next. The Brit also thanked the fans to send him well wishes for his recovery and also added he will get his knee fixed and come back stronger.
“Anybody who’s have knee problems knows that in order to have an MRI scan an accurate MRI scan, you need to let the swelling go down. So I spoke to the surgeon, we have verified what it is but we are currently waiting for the swelling to go down and I will be having the MRI scan this weekend and have a surgery early next week in London. So,just wanna say massive thank you to everyone who reached out, obviously I have been offline been down in the dumps since Saturday night but hopefully, we will get it fixed, get the surgery early next week. Thank you,” said Aspinall.
Knee injuries such as that could lead to some serious repercussions with the fighter losing his ability to fight for life. Aspinall is lucky that it doesn’t seem that serious however, it’s hard to say anything before the MRI and the surgery is done
