British Interim champion Tom Aspinall recently shared an Instagram story. The story showed he booked a flight to Las Vegas in April. This overlaps with the weekend that the UFC 300 event will take place. Many MMA fans saw this as a hint that Aspinall could feature on the historic pay-per-view show. However, Aspinall also included an emoji depicting a stone-faced statue. This emoji is usually interpreted as indicating UFC light heavyweight champion Alex Pereira. 

When posting the Vegas flight confirmation, Aspinall did not confirm outright that he would fight at UFC 300. The cryptic post from Aspinall has left fans scratching their heads. His presence in Las Vegas during fight week certainly raises eyebrows. Top UFC stars often attend the promotion’s biggest shows even if they aren’t competing. So, Aspinall traveling to Vegas doesn’t guarantee he will fight at UFC 300.

Aspinall is the current UFC interim heavyweight champion after defeating Sergei Pavlovich last year. He has expressed interest in fighting current heavyweight king Jon Jones. However, Jones is currently recovering from injury. Without Jones as an option, Aspinall floated the idea of facing off against dangerous striker Alex Pereira instead.

UFC 300 is set to take place on April 15th. The main event of the card is not yet finalized and remains open for speculation. For now, MMA fans continue to theorize if Aspinall will step in against Pereira or another top name this April. Whether Aspinall ends up fighting or not, he has certainly gotten fans talking about the monumental UFC 300 event.
