Tony Ferguson was seeking to halt his three-fight losing streak in a highly anticipated bout against Chandler at UFC 274. ‘El Cucuy’ did much better than many thought in the first round, despite coming off three losses in a row. Ferguson was knocked out cold just seconds into the round as Chandler landed a thunderous front kick.
In a recent interview with MMA Junkie, Tony was seen to be in good spirits looks willing to make the required changes and rejoin the fray.
He stated, “F*** no! Check this out – If you have an investor, like a venture capitalist, do you think you’re gonna sit there and let your businesses just sit there and float? Absolutely not! You’re gonna sit there and you’re gonna get back to work. You’re gonna do the numbers and you’re gonna make sure you make the good adjustments.”

Following their appearance on the UFC 264 programme, Tony Ferguson and Charles Olivera shared a kind demonstration of sportsmanship on social media for fans to remember. The two show respect to each other like two teammates would.
Before the weigh in of UFC 274 of Tony and Charles Oliveira were competing on the same card subsequently they crossed paths. Tony detailed this interaction and he stated, “He was signing some posters, I put my hand on his shoulder I said Hey kid you stay focused. I put my arm around him and said walk around me.”
Following Ferguson’s disappointing knockout loss to Michael Chandler, Oliveira sent a passionate tweet expressing his support for ‘El Cucuy’ and offered to train with him for his next bout. He tweeted, “We’re among big dogs, up&downs are part of our jorneys. I admire you a lot @tonyfergusonxt. You’ve the history inside the Octagon. Head up “El Cucuy”!

Ferguson dismissed the request that he has his reasons for not accepting ‘Do Bronx’s offer just yet, despite his admiration for Chute Boxe Academy.
He stated, “No, I don’t think it’s social media clout. I have to really reflect on what he said because Chute Boxe is a very good school. But he is in my weight class. I’m one of the only fighters that he hasn’t finished… I see myself competing against him again… I’m looking for local gyms that I’m not going to compete with.”
