Recently, Umar Nurmagomedov took to Instagram to share a video on his IG Story. The video captured him sparring when an unfortunate hit to his shoulder resulted in torn ligaments. It became evident that competing with such an injury would be unwise. Thus regretfully, he had to back out of the much-anticipated match against Sandhagen. “Fighting the most important fight in my life with torn shoulder ligaments, would be the biggest stupidity in my life,” he wrote. “Going to have surgery soon. And that’s the same old circle.”
Despite the magnitude of the event he prioritized his integrity as a competitor. Umar has confirmed his decision to undergo surgery for his shoulder.
