UFC middleweight Alex Pereira looks massive ahead of his title fight at UFC 281
Alex Pereira chooses Bruno Silva as next possible opponent
Alex Pereira is a big boy! Israel Adesanya has been dominant in the 185-pound division for a long time. His constant wins over opponents have made fans feel that ‘The Last Stylebender’ lacks competition. However, that won’t be the case at UFC 281. The New Zealander is all set to take on adversary Alex Pereira in a much-awaited contest.
Pereira has had a massive rise in the UFC. While he is known for his striking, ‘Poatan’ is popular among the fans because of his two wins over Adesanya. The Brazilian faced Adesanya in two kickboxing matches before they transitioned to MMA. While Pereira won one fight via decision, the Brazilian made history in the second as he became the only person to knock Adesanya out. A former world champion in kickboxing, Pereira has momentum going into his fight against Israel. The Brazilian, who is only three fights into his UFC career, has won all three in the promotion. His last fight against Sean Strickland powered Pereira’s fame as he managed to score a brilliant knockout against the American fighter.
The one common belief among Pereira supporters is that the Brazilian has Adesanya’s number. Highlighting his knockout win over ‘The Last Stylebender’ in kickboxing, many believe Pereira will replicate the same in the octagon. While it seems as if ‘Poatan’ might have the striking advantage, it is now seen that Pereira will have one more thing in his favor.
