Cub Swanson returning to the octagon had many aces of the sport tuning in to watch the legend put on a show at UFC Vegas 62. Unfortunately for Swanson and his fans, the fighter faced a brutal loss to youngster Jonathan Martinez.

At UFC Vegas 62, Cub Swanson made his return after more than nearly a year. The featherweight legend decided to drop down to the bantamweight division for the first time in his career and his debut did not go according to plan. Swanson was matched up against the dangerous Jonathan Martinez for a three-round co-main event fight.

Swanson was not able to get the better of his 28-year-old opponent at all today. Though Swanson got into rhythm slowly, Martinez’s leg kicks and sneaky elbows were too much for the UFC Hall-of-Famer to handle. In the second round, Swanson was knocked out via leg kicks.

Martinez dropped the fighter with a low kick and also landed a few punches while he was on the ground. Herb Dean stepped in to call the fight. This finish was vicious from the “Dragon” as he ended up destroying the legs of the legend.
