After facing two consecutive losses for the Welterweight championship against rival Leon Edwards, Kamaru Usman is preparing to make a huge comeback. Usman recently expressed his desire to fight against undefeated Khamzat Chimaev. The fight has not been announced yet, but the Nigerian is ready for the challenge.

Former UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman is all set to make a comeback and end his two-fight losing streak. The Nigerian nightmare lost the title against Leon Edwards at UFC 278 last August. He got the rematch on March 20, 2023, but again failed to secure the win. Recently, Usman called out the fighter who is considered the most dangerous in the division.

Kamaru Usman was having a talk with ESPN MMA, he said, “A fight with myself and Khamzat? Boom,” Usman continued, “I’m kind of in a place now where I’m having fun with it, and what’s the biggest, funnest, most intense fight that really makes me feel something? That’s a fight right there. That could headline a pay-per-view (PPV). He’s a fighter and I’m a fighter at the end of the day,”

Usman also said that he is there to fight and does not care about the weight of his opponent much. The former champ said of his mindset that,“I fight these guys heart, not their weight.” He also explained about his training camp “I’ve been able to deal with Middleweights and Light Heavyweights in the gym. And if he wants a shot at the Welterweight strap, you kind of have to give a little bit and show I can get down there and do it. But if it’s up a weight, potentially.”

With his active attitude, Kamaru Usma is ready to confront a difficult challenge. Chael Sonnen, a UFC legend, has always maintained ties with the MMA community, particularly during UFC events. He is always willing to give his thoughts and predictions regarding upcoming UFC and other contests. This time, Chael Sonnen weighed in on former champion Usman calling out Khamzat Chimaev.

Chael Sonnen, this time, took to Twitter to voice his views. Sonnen wrote, “Stud. When you talk about legacy, all you’re talking about is how the onlookers are going to refer to you in the future. This is how legends are made.”

Currently, Khamazat Chimaev is planning to compete in the middleweight division as he is showing interest in the heavier weight class. Last time, at UFC 279, Khamzat missed the weight by 7.5 pounds. Now he will be looking to return to the octagon and make the weight.
