Urijah Faber suggests Henry Cejudo to not quit UFC and fight again despite the loss against Aljamain Sterling at UFC 288. It wasn’t a fairytale comeback for Henry Cejudo against Aljamain Sterling at UFC 288 as the results weren’t what the former champion was expecting. Cejudo came back into the octagon after a long three year layoff but failed to get his hands on the bantamweight title.
After a five round back and forth close fight, Sterling successfully defended the belt via split decision. After the fight, Cejudo mentioned that he isn’t sure about continuing in the UFC but a certain UFC legend has some other views. Urijah Faber was present at the backstage where he met ‘Triple C’ and asked him to get another fight soon. According to Faber, Cejudo is one of best fighters in the world currently and deserves to fight and earn paychecks.
He said while meeting Cejudo: “Hey, when you back in there bro. It’s smart to get back in there man. You gotta f**** do your thing. Hey bro, you the baddest motherf**** on the planet. You need to be stacked. Bad a*** fight dude.”
Cejudo was cool with him and showed great respect to his remarks. “Thank you. Thank you bro,” said Cejudo. Even after such a huge gap, Cejudo didn’t show any signs of ring rust and was able to compete the world champion toe to toe. Many fans loved his performance and are definitely expecting him to come back again.
Henry Cejudo is not done yet and wants Merab Dvalishvili at UFC 292
Henry Cejudo is widely regarded as one of best combat sports athletes of all time; he has proved it in various stages. The Olympic gold medalist has been a former UFC double champion and is extremely talented.
Going into the fight against Aljamain Sterling, there were many fans who thought Cejudo would beat Aljo but it didn’t happen. Cejudo had plans to get the bantamweight belt, beat Sean O’Malley and then challenge Alexander Volkanovski. But with the loss, his plans are now halted.
However, the fighter has finally announced that he has no plans to go out just now as Cejudo called out Merab Dvalishvili on his Instagram account. “This sh*t is far from over! @danawhite I want @merab.dvalishvili head on a plate! #ufcboston,” wrote Cejudo.
Dvalishvili is a rising star with a lot of potential and given the hype created at UFC 288, UFC and Dana White must be looking forward to bring Cejudo back soon and this might be the best shot.
