Things have gotten ugly between Deiveson Figueiredo and his former manager Wallid Ismail. The manager is not happy with the “half the truth” circling around the MMA community about his past with the champion. He takes matters into his own hands and responds to criticisms.

Deiveson Figueiredo recently came out and announced that he will no longer be associated with his former manager Wallid Ismail. One of the main reasons why he split with the management was because he felt he was not being paid for his champion status. The fighter was truly unhappy with the contracts he was receiving and has now sorted to a split with Wallid and joined hands with former fighter Urijah Faber.

Deiveson Figueiredo spoke on the Trocacao Franca podcast and said that he was not being paid like a champion. The fighter also revealed some numbers from his recent championship fights that suggested he got paid $100,000 to show and $100,000 to win at UFC 270 when he won his belt back from Brandon Moreno. Wallid responded to Deiveson’s claims and slammed him for not speaking the whole truth.

He went all in against Figgy and presented his opinion without any filter. “He wants to look for someone to blame for his wrong decisions,” Wallid said in a recent interview. “I’m just speaking out because, although he apologized to me for lying that he didn’t know about the interim belt, now he’s back to lying, that I hadn’t warned the UFC about his injury. That’s a lack of character.”

He added, “I have conversations with matchmakers informing about the injury. He made a statement in the press saying that he would only like to fight Kai Kara-France in October, although I asked him to fight Brandon Moreno again, as this would be the best fight for his career.”

“This vagabond has become a shameless bastard. First, he lied saying that I hadn’t warned him about the interim belt [the bastard told me he didn’t care]. The bastard apologized to me for lying. Now he’s telling another lie. You’re very naughty, Deiveson. I told the UFC that he was injured and could only fight in October. This bastard asked me to say that,” Wallid concluded.
