Isamael Bonfim registers his first ever UFC victory after a nasty knockout against Terrance McKinney

UFC pay-per-view action is back with UFC 283 which took place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. In the preliminary card, Terrance McKinney fought Ismael Bonfim in a lightweight bout. The fight started off with both fighters being cautious and trying their best to not get hit. However, later in the round, Bonfim managed to win a few exchanges. It was McKinney’s only UFC fight that went to the second round, it didn’t end the way the fighter would have expected.
In the third minute of the second round, McKinney was pressed against the cage and got caught by a nasty knee to his head by Bonfim. That was absolutely brutal and the sound of it made the fans in the arena go crazy. It was enough to put McKinney to sleep as the fighter fell into the mat helplessly.
Bonfim, who is a product of the Dana White Contender Series, shocked the fans by getting a KO victory in his official UFC debut.

Ismael Bonfim is not a newbie debutant as the fighter has a lot of experience in various other MMA promotions. However, to be able to pull that off in his first fight, especially in front of his home crowd in Brazil is commendable.
After the fight, in the post-match interview, the fighter credited his coach for rigorously practicing those knees which helped him to get that knockout.
He said: “We knew his condition, he wasn’t gonna be very good. So we train on top of that, I must have thrown 200 of those knees with this guy right here. So we knew that that was gonna happen and I was gonna take him out in the second.”
It was an extremely promising debut and the fighter has shown great potential for the future. The UFC must be thinking about promoting him given that Bonfim has proven that he can be entertaining.
