“Don’t worry, Daddy’s here” – WATCH: Charles Oliveira and Islam Makhachev have fiery back and forth at UFC 280 press conference

Charles Oliveira and Islam Makhachev at press conference
Things got heated at the UFC 280 press conference between the headliners, Charles Oliveira and Islam Makhachev. Just a few days away from the fight and the intensity is through the roof!
UFC 280 is undoubtedly the most-anticipated pay-per-view card of this year so far! The event will be headlined by the lightweight title fight between Charles Oliveira and Islam Makhachev at the Etihad Arena in Abu Dhabi this weekend. The venue is expected to be packed with fans rooting for the Dagestani but Makhachev wouldn’t have minded fighting in Oliveira’s backyard!
At the UFC 280 pre-fight press conference, Makhachev and Oliveira (well, his translator) got into a heated argument after the Dagestani claimed he was down to fight in Brazil. “We ask about Brazil many times. If you don’t know this, ask Dana,” said Makhachev at the presser.
“You tried to avoid this fight for how many months? You never say my name,” said Makhachev. “I didn’t have a reason to say your name. The champion has a name and his name is Charles Oliveira…don’t worry, daddy’s here,” replied Oliveira through his translator.

Islam Makhachev claims he never dismissed to fight Charles Oliveira in Brazil

Ever since the matchup was bought to the table, Makhachev and Oliviera have been going back and forth about the venue of this fight. Ever since he got his hands on the belt, the Brazilian lightweight has wanted to fight in front of his fans. However, to his disappointment, Oliveira vs Makhachev was booked to be held in Abu Dhabi.
Oliveira believes Makhachev and his team have pushed the promotion to take the fight to his “backyard” being the middle east. Islam Makhachev completely dismissed this claim from Oliveira in a recent interview with ESPN MMA. “When they offered this fight, I said, ‘Doesn’t matter where.’ I told them I am going to come to Brazil, sit in my horse and come to Brazil,” said Makhachev.
Charles “Do Bronx” and Islam Makhachev have now moved on from this drama and are fully focused on taking the belt back to Brazil. Do you think the venue will play a major role in the upcoming lightweight title fight?
