WATCH: Cub Swanson gets viciously knocked out in debut bantamweight fight at UFC Vegas 62
Cub Swanson gets knocked out by Jonathan Martinez
Cub Swanson‘s debut in the bantamweight division did not go according to his plans.
28-year-old Jonathan Martinez welcomed the veteran, Cub Swanson with a brutal TKO at UFC Vegas 62. The two bantamweights co-headlined the fight night earlier today and went on to put up a great fight. The fan-favorite, Swanson was overwhelmed by the strikes thrown his way by the “Dragon”.
Jonathan Martinez did not hold back up on the legend and threw some vicious leg kicks that were too much for Swanson to take. The former featherweight fighter went to the floor in the second round after getting his leg hurt by one of the kicks Martinez threw.
Martinez landed a handful of strikes after Swanson went to the ground for good measure before the referee called off the fight. It truly was a disappointing loss for Swanson. The fans found it tough to watch the legend go down like that. The fight took place at the UFC Apex in Las Vegas.

Cub Swanson entered UFC Vegas 62 as a Hall of fame inductee
Cub Swanson, three months ago was inducted into the UFC hall of fame for his fight against Doo Ho Choi. The former featherweight fighter was inducted into the hall of fame for outlasting his opponent back in 2016. The fight was an absolute barnburner and very few fights in history top that one.
Swanson and Doo-Ho fought at UFC 206 in a featherweight bout and the former outperformed his opponent to get the win. Swanson was very happy to be inducted into the prestigious Hall of Fame and felt very accomplished. Swanson would have wanted to top that amazing moment with a win against Martinez earlier but the youngster was too good for the Hall of Famer.
Swanson holds wins over Charles Oliveira, Dustin Poirier, and several other top fighters. He has been fighting in the UFC since 2011 and has a record of 28-12 in his career. The fighter’s loss at UFC Vegas 62 pops the inevitable question of retirement.
