Even UFC commentator Joe Rogan could not believe the judges’ decision for the UFC 282 co-main event fight between Paddy Pimblett and Jared Gordon.
Paddy Pimblett, the rising star of the UFC promotion took on Jared Gordon in a lightweight fight for three rounds in the co-main event of UFC 282. Until the co-main event, every fight on the final pay-per-view event of 2022 ended up in a finish. Pimblett, who has three finishes in the UFC failed to finish his opponent at the T-Mobile Arena and forced a result determined by the judges.
Jared Gordon did very well in the fight and was expected to be announced the winner. But the Nevada Judges must have seen it differently as they scored the fight in favor of Paddy The Baddy, awarding him the win. The controversial decision upset a lot of fans. A recent video shows that even UFC commentator Joe Rogan was not so happy about this decision from the judges.
In the video shot by a fan from the stands of the arena, Rogan can be seen visibly disappointed with the decision as he shakes his head with Belal Muhammad, a welterweight contender, who cornered Gordon in this big fight. This was not the only fight in which Rogan disagreed with the judges’ decision. In the main event, the fight between Blachowicz and Ankalaev was called a split draw and the UFC commentator thought Magomed Ankalaev should have won the fight.

Paddy Pimblett says to Joe Rogan the fight wasn’t close
After the decision was announced, Pimblett was interviewed by Joe Rogan in the octagon at UFC 282. The UFC commentator opened the interview by saying, “Paddy that was a close one,” and before he could finish his sentence, the Liverpool fighter interrupted Rogan to claim the fight was not nearly close. “No, it wasn’t. That wasn’t close. He just controlled me in the third,” said Paddy The Baddy.
After shutting down the idea that the fight was close, Pimblett went on to take another dig at MMA journalist Ariel Helwani, with whom he has been feuding recently. Rogan clearly did not engage in the joke and went on to ask about the fight. Pimblett, who was clearly the fan-favorite has slowly tarnished his public image with his recent antics inside and outside the octagon. The fighter might still be one of the biggest stars on the roster but he sure has turned heel in the eyes of the fans.

Putting aside all the antics aside, this win over Jared Gordon extends Pimblett’s winning streak in the octagon to 4 fights. The fighter is yet to be defeated in the UFC octagon and is awaited with a lot of worthy opponents in the lightweight division waiting to get their hands on him. It will be interesting to see if the fighter gets stepped up in competition for his next outing.
