Garry and Rodriguez will be taking on each other in a much anticipated welterweight bout this weekend and the Irish is all in for the mind games. Garry recently posted a video of him pranking Rodriguez by planting pizza and weed in front of his hotel room just 24 hours before the official weigh-ins.
“It’s Thursday night,it’s the night before weigh-ins and I have got a little present for D-Rod. This is his room,we are gonna put it outside and we’re just gonna leave,” said Garry while making the prank video.
The fighter kept the pizza, knocked on Rodriguez’s door and ran off but made sure to film the whole scenario. One of Rodriguez’s teammates, Sasha Palatnikov, opened the door and took the pizza but was totally confused.
Daniel missed his weight target during the first attempt, creating a lot of buzz on social media, with Garry’s funny approach adding to the excitement. However, Rodriguez made his weight on his second attempt, and interestingly, Garry was there to support him, applauding him for making weight.
Ian Garry believes he will outclass Daniel Rodriguez in their upcoming fight at UFC Charlotte, North Carolina

Hailing from the same country as Conor McGregor, Ian Garry has proven that he is one of most hyped fighters in the UFC roster and with a promotional record of 4-0, the Irish has gathered some attention. However, he’s yet to be get into the rankings and in the upcoming fight he might get what he wants.
Ahead of the fight, Garry has mentioned that he is just too good for Daniel Rodriguez and it’s going to be easy win for him.“It’s going to be f*****g bad. I believe I’m far too fast, far too technical, and have far more tools in my bag than he does. He’s got a decent jab that lands quite well but he overreaches on his left hand a lot. He’s getting older, he’s not as powerful, he doesn’t have the same pop as he used to have. He’s been talking about, he’s not felt power like mine,” said Garry.
According to the young fighter, Rodriguez is old and will not have any answers to Garry’s speed and power. A win against the American will definitely catapult “The Future” in the rankings and a step closer to fighting the top contenders.
