Kamaru Usman is in the final stages of preparing for the trilogy fight against Leon Edwards at UFC 286. In their previous bout at UFC 278, Usman was on his way to winning a decision until Edwards landed the “head kick” heard around the world. Usman will look to capture the Welterweight Championship in London. A video of Usman in the hospital is making the round on social media.
Kamaru Usman’s manager, Ali Abdelaziz, recently posted a video of Usman practising how to block the head kick. The flashbacks of the head kick make Usman block properly with his right hand. Ali Abdelaziz states, “Back in August, While they were celebrating their victory , the preparation to gain it all back started an hour after the fight. It’s going to be a great show in London.”
Kamaru Usman first fought Leon Edwards in 2015, winning the fight unanimously. The second fight happened in 2022. Both of them were different fighters in the second bout. Usman became a more experienced striker, and Edwards improved his grappling ability. Edwards became the first person to takedown Usman in the UFC. Edwards won the contest with a head-kick knockout in the final round.
