Terrance McKinney and Kevin Holland are two very similar fighters with an equally laid-back attitudes. Recently McKinney traveled from his home state in Washington all the way down South to Texas. Here he was welcomed by none other than the state’s resident vigilante
Kevin Holland.

Holland who has quickly become a favorite son of Texas, was there to welcome his fellow UFC colleague when he got around his neck of the woods. To add to this, he made sure McKinney had the perfect Kevin Holland experience as he seems to have bought enough marijuana for the both of them

In a video posted by McKinney, he and Holland can be seen in high spirits. The duo is seen dancing in a parking lot with Holland even carrying around a blunt in his mouth. A great way to be welcomed if you ask anyone.

Both McKinney and Holland have gained a reputation as Forever Game fighters based on their willingness to accept and show up for short-notice fights just to save entire events from collapsing. This is mostly a good thing and helps furthers one’s reputation in the eyes of the company but recently it turned sideways for Holland.

In the replies to McKinney’s post, the common sentiment was not one of celebration but rather a grim atmosphere, asking for the return of Holland. After his most recent fight against Khamzat Chimaev, one he accepted on less than a 24-hour notice, Holland was defeated in brutal fashion.
However, taking such a risky opponent on such short notice apparently led to Holland receiving a substantial paycheck at UFC 279. While most fighters would look to keep the momentum going, Holland decided to retire while still young.

Though no concrete details as a reason for his retirement have come out yet, Holland himself has confirmed twice now that he is certainly retired from the sport unless something “magical” was to open up.

Even McKinney apparently tried to talk him out of retirement only to find out that Holland was definitely happy about his decision to do so.

As retirements in MMA rarely remain permanent, fans have a silver lining to seek out of this entire scenario. Moreover, we’re sure that the next time there is a short notice fight to accept, Holland would certainly be first up in line to accept.
