The fight everyone has been looking forward to! Khamzat Chimaev and Kevin Holland are the new co-main event of UFC 279 and the two are ready to bring the heat into the octagon.

Fans finally get to see the fight they wanted. Khamzat Chimaev vs Nate Diaz was a dreadful matchup and thanks to the former’s weigh-in mishap, we now have an entirely different co-main and main event fight for UFC 279. Khamzat will now take on Kevin Holland after a last-minute shuffle.

It takes a lot of guts to take on the claimed “Bogeyman” of the UFC in a fight, let alone on short notice. Kevin has agreed to the worst possible stylistic matchup on one day’s notice. Holland was initially booked to face Daniel Rodriguez but has instead agreed to save the card by taking on Khamzat.

But he won’t need it. Kevin is getting absolutely ragdolled and Khamzat gets the D’arce choke in. Holland tries his best to not tap but even the “heavy breathing” from Chimaev does not stop him from letting go of Kevin. And it’s over! That is all it takes from the dangerous Khamzat to finish an opponent.

Props to Kevin for taking such a dangerous fight on short notice but this was in no way a good matchup for him. Khamzat now still maintains his undefeated record!
