UFC legend Mark Coleman battled for his life at the hospital after recently saving his parents from a housefire. He was unresponsive and needed breathing support. The news went viral on social media and many prayed for the 59-year-old. Now, after almost 48 hours, Coleman regained consciousness and shared a heartfelt moment with his daughters.
In a recent video posted on Coleman’s Facebook account, his daughter Kenzie updated about her father’s health. In the video, Coleman was out of danger and spoke to his daughters. He recounted the horrible accident at his house and was glad he saved his parents. However, he felt remorse for not being able to save his dog, Hammer. He hugged his daughters and broke out in tears. Here is what he said:

What happened at the house? Mark Coleman and his parents were stranded in a house fire in Toledo, Ohio. After waking up from sleep due to his dog’s continuous bark, the UFC legend took matters into his own hands. He rescued his two parents and once again went inside the blazing house to save his pet dog. However, he lost consciousness and later the firefighters rescued him. This proved the bravery of MMA fighters.
This selfless act from Coleman got the attention of the MMA community. Fighters like Michael Bisping, Ramage Jackson, Derek Brunson, and more sent prayers for Coleman. As such, seeing Coleman out of danger and speaking was a relief to the fighting world.
Mark Coleman’s friend praises the UFC fighter’s heroics
As the fighting community applauded the selfless act of Colemen, his friend Wes Sims took to Facebook to speak about the UFC Fighter’s bravery. He was one of the first to update fans about Coleman’s well-being and the horrid incident.
In the Facebook post, Sims rejoiced at Coleman’s condition. Although he light-heartedly stated Coleman would’ve wanted to film the entire incident, he emotionally broke down the news of him getting airlifted and battling for life.

Mark Coleman was the inaugural UFC heavyweight champion and was inducted into the promotion’s Hall of Fame in 2008. He was one of the pioneers to use wrestling to dominate his opponents. Despite being 59 years old, Coleman hasn’t let his fighter mentality go off. His valiant act in saving his parent and risking his life for his dog certainly proved it.
