Sean Strickland gets his hands on a flame thrower and jokingly tries to burn down Hans Molenkamp. Strickland made history by giving the fight one of the biggest upsets in the modern era of MMA.
During this journey, Monster Energy has supported the fighter and all their investment has finally paid off. Other than being the champion, Strickland has also gained a large fan following throughout the course of his rivalry with former champion Israel Adesanya.
Fans are loving the unfiltered and wild personality of Strickland and after becoming champion, he’s giving them exactly what they expected. Recently, Molenkamp shared a reel on his official Instagram account showing Sean Strickland with a flame thrower trying to burn the head of Monster Energy.
Although Molenkamp has been involved in numerous controversies, facing anger from various individuals, none of these disputes have been as intense as the one he experienced with his own athlete, Sean Strickland.
Michael Bisping believes Eric Nicksick is strategically selecting Jared Cannonier as the opponent for Sean Strickland’s inaugural title defense
Sean Strickland’s most recent defeat occurred in a closely contested split decision against Jared Cannonier in a five-round bout last December. Eric Nicksick, the coach of Strickland, recently advocated for Cannonier to be Strickland’s next opponent in an interview with The Schmo, and according to Bisping, there’s a specific rationale behind this choice.
He said in one of his recent YouTube videos, “Sean Strickland’s coach, he wants the next person to be Jared Cannonier. He says, UFC obviously whatever they’re going to do, they’re going to do, but I said Jared Cannonier for a number of reasons. No. 1, he did beat us. Now of course, it was a split decision, but on that record, we got beat, and I think there were things that we didn’t do correctly in that fight that caused us to lose.”
Bisping explained that the Strickland team was going to say that just because Cannonier beat Strickland in a close fight, this is going to be an opportunity to settle the score.
