Jon Jones gushed at the opportunity to hang out with heavyweight legend, Fedor Emelianenko. The duo was in attendance at the PFL vs. Bellator: Champions event this Saturday. ‘Bones’ himself is quite the big name in the combat sports bubble. The 265lbs G.O.A.T is considerably one of the best Strikers in UFC history. Even as a light heavyweight, Jones was quite the reckoning force. He holds such a dominant reverence that even Bellator MMA’s Ryan Bader hails praises on former foe Jones.

But meeting ‘The Last Emperor’ was for him a joy beyond measure. The meeting took place at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh on Saturday, February 24. The interaction shows Jones ecstatically bowing and leaning to kiss Emelianenko’s hand in an honorable gesture. Additionally, he also audibly says –

I love you Fedor! You were one of my favorites, always, forever, brother. You and Aleksandr. Tell your brother I said hello.

At a whopping stat of 40-7-0, the Russian Phenom out of Oskol, Belgorod Oblast Country is quite the knockout artist. Towering at 6 feet, Emelianenko boasts a monumental 16-6 total (T)KO record. So much so that EA SPORTS™ UFC® 5 teasing a Jones vs. Emelianenko face-off in its UFC 5 official trailer had fans going berserk. Fight fans are always delighted at such make-believe scenarios.

But what does take them aback is Jones trying to kiss Fedor Emelianenko’s hand. A prime reaction retorted – “They don’t do that woke/gay west stuff in Eastern Europe, they still have balls.” And it isn’t the only one.

While fans have commended the legendary meet-up by two phenoms who hold such a legacy, some have found the encounter to be quite weird. Others have remained just in awe at the interactions between such G.O.A.Ts. Fedor Emelianenko remains one of the greatest names representing the golden age of MMA. Hence, the current champion bowing to his legacy has delighted fans.
