Daniel Cormier believes that Conor McGregor manipulated Michael Chandler into taking the fight at 185 pounds

Daniel Cormier responded to the unexpected statement by posting his opinions on his YouTube channel. Cormier likens McGregor’s attitude to that of a villain, implying that McGregor is manipulating his opponents and making them dance to his tune.

He believes that manipulating Chadler to move 2 divisions up in weight class gives an edge to McGregor. Even though McGregor was also a lightweight fighter, recent inactivity has seen him gain quite some weight that may now be hard to shed.

Michael Chandler’s switch to middleweight might have far-reaching consequences. Fighting 30 pounds heavier than his customary lightweight class may provide difficulties, reducing his performance and fitness. Cormier expressed worry at Chandler’s failure to speak out against McGregor’s decision and claimed that McGregor’s manipulation may alter the fight’s dynamics.
