UFC’s inaugural “BMF” Jorge Masvidal linking up with Sean Strickland is not something fight fans were hoping for. But now that ‘Gamebred’ is keeping the company of the unhinged people’s champ, it is a welcome notion amongst netizens. Both fighters are infamous within their circles for their notorious mannerisms and unfiltered steps towards peers.

A recent post on X by Masvidal (@GamebredFighter) shows the duo practicing downrange with what looks like a Kalashnikov variant. Sean Strickland, who the other describes as a “real life terminator,” wows with his on-point grouping with such a powerful gun. He is then audibly muttering pointers to Masvidal, who later says:

Taking a little break from practice...came here with the real-life Terminator, Sean's ready for the apocalypse, and then some man.

Strickland’s love for firearms is nothing new within fight circles. Just recently, Chris Curtis and others planning a surprise birthday party for him saw a handgun-toting Strickland meet them. His gun giveaway during UFC 297 Embedded: Vlog Series – Episode 1 also surprised fans. This was a custom gold Armalite rifle-15 that Strickland’s manager Lance Spaude gifted him.

Valentina Shevchenko‘s range-day challenge to Strickland is also a well-known affair. Along with Shevchenko, Georges St-Pierre and others Masvidal now joins rank as yet another firearms enthusiast with range training. However, that isn’t where their association stops.

Masvidal infamously fought Nate Diaz for the inaugural BMF title at UFC 244. Consequently, after which Diaz labeled him as one of the truest “gangsters” of the promotions.

The similarly unhinged former titleholder, Strickland most often garners such sentiments from fight fans as the people’s champion or true-American champion. So it is no wonder that people most often long for their association. A recent post by Masvidal has answered their calls, practicing at a gun range with ‘Tarzan’.

However, that is not where their acquaintance ends or begins though.

Strickland happened to win the middleweight title at UFC 293 against Israel Adesanya, before losing out in his maiden defense to Dricus Du Plessis. Despite his dauntingly brazen demeanor and steps, his winning the title was considered one of the biggest upsets of the time. However, Masvidal came to his defense, stating that he already has the mettle to knock down top fighters in sparring sessions.

British Sports presenter Layla Anna Lee‘s 2010 publication How to Be a WAG was to be an 11-page satire piece on celebrity ensnaring. However, a misinformed Strickland jumped the gun on dissing husband Ian Machado Garry for it, on being ensnared by Anna-Lee. A long feud has ensued ever since. The former ‘BMF’ titleholder quipped that Strickland’s assessment was “Dead on point” though.

They were also spotted sitting together at Power Slap 6; the duo also jumped on the trendy bandwagon to support Elon Musk for his supposed bout against Mark Zuckerberg.
