“Say something to Putin,” When Conor McGregor left Khabib Nurmagomedov speechless after accusing Dagestani’s shady training camp

In over 30 years of its operation, the UFC has never hosted a successful event like UFC 229. The bout between Conor McGregor and Khabib Nurmagomedov was an entry point for many new fans in the sport. The bout has the highest PPV buys and a huge footprint on the sport of MMA. The buildup of the fight and the animosity between the fighters were one of the key reasons for its success.
The press conference events for UFC 229 saw Conor McGregor unload verbal assaults on Khabib Nurmagomedov. He called out the Eagle’s manager, team members, and a controversial figure from his past. Ziyavudin Magomedov once sponsored the career of former lightweight champion Khabib. The oligarch at one time boasted a net worth of 1.2 billion dollars and invested heavily in the Russian mixed martial arts scene. He paid for the majority of the expenses for Khabib’s training camps, along with several other fighters.
However, Magomedov was sentenced to 19 years in a maximum security prison for embezzling $180 million of state funds. He was also charged with organizing a criminal group and stripped of all his awards. During the press event, when Khabib Nurmagomedov tried to have a comeback at Conor McGregor, he was quickly shot down. Conor brought up Ziyavudin and silenced the Dagestani fighter.
” You took money from Magomedov, you lick-a**e rat. Now what, Putin locked him up. Say something to Putin about locking Magomedov up. When money got pumped into your camp by that scumbag that’s in an 8 by 10 cell you thought you were a don. Now look at you, no money left, ” said Conor, shutting down Khabib. While Khabib tried to respond, he was silenced by McGregor and suffered verbal assaults at the hand of the Notorious.
Conor McGregor caught Ali Abdelaziz off guard with his comment

Khabib Nurmagomedov vs Conor McGregor is UFC’s best-selling fight and is by far the most famous MMA fight on the globe. The fight had a wild press conference and Conor was untouchable during the most parts of it. The Notorious went all out on Nurmagomedov and verbally assaulted his father, his teammates, and his sponsor.
After the face-offs when many thought Conor was done with the trash-talking, he went ballistics on Khabib’s manager Ali Abdelaziz. Ali had passed some remarks on Conor during his face-off with Khabib, and McGregor was not having it. McGregor lashed out at Ali Abdelaziz and brought out his hidden past, which caught the MMA manager off guard.
“Shut your mouth, Ali Abdelaziz. You terrorist snitch! I know a lot about you as well, you madman. I know a lot about you as well. You keep your mouth shut kid. How’s Noah? How’s Noah? Yeah, shut your mouth. Never speak about me, ever in your life! Watch yourself around me, ‘cuz you’ll be out of here quick,” yelled Conor.
Ali Abdelaziz early in his life was an informant for the NYPD. During this time, he had abandoned his son Noah and was $50,000 behind in Child Support. Conor McGregor later went into more detail about Ali Abdelaziz’s past life in another press conference event. Just goes to show Conor McGregor does his homework and keeps tabs on his opponents.
