Long-time UFC commentator and podcaster, Joe Rogan is no stranger to controversies. The JRE podcast is known for covering topics that are largely unknown to the rest of the world. However, Joe Rogan’s controversy in the past about repetitive usage of racial slurs like the ‘n-word’.


In the episode of the JRE, Joe Rogan was heard using the ‘n-word’ in repetition while explaining an incident from his past. Since the episode was an older one, it had not made it to the mainstream media up until his $100 million deal with Spotify for exclusive streaming rights to the Joe Rogan Experience.

The controversy made enraged fans which almost led to Rogan’s social media cancelation. Michael Jai White appeared in an interview to talk about Rogan’s racist comments and usage of racial slurs to describe his experience with an incident in Philadelphia. “I don’t know too many human beings on the planet who I have so many similarities with than Joe Rogan,” Michael Jai White continued. “I know he is not a ‘racist

I heard the whole n-word rant thing and I wasn’t cool with how people put that thing together. He wasn’t calling someone the ‘n-word’…when you’re using that word to describe what happened in an incident, you’re not calling someone the ‘n-word‘, Michael Jai White defended long-time friend, Joe Rogan. “Think about it, there was no uproar until this Spotify’s $100 million deal happened,” Michael added.

Throwback to when Israel Adesanya defended Joe Rogan at the height of the podcaster’s cancellation during the ‘n-word’ controversy

After Michael Jai White defended Joe Rogan’s usage of racial slurs while explaining an incident, Israel Adesanya was asked about the controversy by a reporter during his UFC 271 press conference. Izzy went on to slam the media and people around to show his support for Joe.

During the height of the controversy when Joe Rogan was almost canceled on social media, Israel Adesanya stepped up to favor Joe Rogan’s reasoning. Despite multiple public apologies, Joe was on the verge of cultural cancelation. “I’m black so I can take this question,” Izzy said.

Even Spotify’s CEO, Daniel Ek also responded to users calling for an all-out ban on Joe Rogan. “I do not believe silencing Joe is an answer. We should have clear lines around content and take action when they are crossed, but canceling voices is a slippery slope,” wrote Daniel Ek.
