“Knock some sense into him,” When ‘idiot’ President Barack Obama was threatened by pro UFC fighter for health care scheme

Over the years UFC fans have witnessed a fair share of some weird post-fight callouts. From calling out Mark Zuckerburg in the octagon to asking Miley Cyrus on a date some fighters simply do it differently. However, in 2011, UFC lightweight Jacob Volkmann called out the then-president of the United States of America Barrack Obama.

Jacob Volkmann signed with UFC and made his debut in 2009. Volkmann known for his strong wrestling skills used his grappling to his advantage. He mainly fought in the lightweight division amassing a record of 15 wins 7 losses and 1 draw during his time in UFC. The most memorable fight of Volkmann’s career took place at UFC 125. Volkmann defeated Antonio Mckee in a three-round lightweight bout via a split decision. However, it was not the fight that made it memorable that Jacob Volkmann’s surprising callout to fight Barack Obama made the headlines.

During his post-fight interview, Ariel Helwani questioned Volkmann on who he wanted for his next fight. Jacob replied to Guida the first time but quickly changed his answer to Obama. “He’s not too bright, he made making a home affordable plan, healthcare plan, somebody’s gotta knock some sense into him,” said Volkmann criticizing Barack Obama. Jacob Volkmann was also a chiropractor and according to him, Obama was making an already bad healthcare plan worse. Jacob also wanted to start his own chiropractic clinic and Obama’s healthcare plan did not make it easy for him to do so.

Volkmann however did not walk away without any consequences. This callout from Volkmann was met by the secret service showing up for a visit. While Volkmann did not care about that he was upset that nothing had changed and Obama was still making bad decisions. Safe to assume Jacob Volkmann was not the one voting for Obama in any of the elections.

When Clay Guida explained his surprising callout of former President Barack Obama

Clay Guida has some of the best moments inside the octagon. Guida has fought 35 fights in UFC with each fight as exciting as the one before. However, Guida had an unexpected moment in the octagon when he called out former president Barrack Obama in his post-fight interview at UFC fight night 63.

Clay Guida in his post-fight interview thanked people for coming out to watch the fight. He later proceeded to call out Obama in a very unclear manner. “With all due respect to Mr Obama, I don’t know if you’re out golfing, hopefully, you’re attending to our important united affairs. But hey, don’t forget about the world’s fastest-growing most popular sport, UFC, and it all starts with wrestling,” said Guida.

Guida’s callout was confusing as many people thought he was calling out then-President Obama for a fight. However, Clay Guida later addressed the confusion. According to him he was calling Barack Obama to Fairfax and attend a UFC event. “So I wasn’t trying to be disrespectful, but it is the fastest-growing sport in the world and it would be nice to see some important people supporting it,” added Guida.
