The Joe Rogan Experience (JRE) Podcast included a pushup competition in which Joe Rogan bested his fellow “Sober October Guys.” Along with his friends and fellow comedians Tom Segura, Ari Shaffir, and Bert Kreischer, Rogan participated in the ‘Sober October’ challenge.
A well-known personal wellness challenge – Sober October is when participants give up alcohol for the whole month. On a special “Sober October” get-together edition of the JRE podcast, all four of them decide to participate in a pushup competition.
The challenge began when Bert Kreischer asked who among them could perform the most pushups in a row. In response, Joe Rogan said: “Oh, definitely me.” Rogan challenged Kreischer, saying he would do double whatever Kreischer does.
Ari Shaffir did 15 pushups, while Bert Kreischer performed 33 pushups. Rogan refuted Kreischer’s pushups saying that none of them were legitimate, as they were all half pushups. Joe Rogan went on to do 75 clean pushups, astonishing his friends and consequently winning the challenge.
Joe Rogan on the recent Dalai Lama controversy
This isn’t the first time netizens have canceled the Dalai Lama. The Tibetan people bestow the title “Dalai Lama” on the spiritual head of the Gelug or “Yellow Hat” school of Tibetan Buddhism, the newest and most dominant of the four major schools of Tibetan Buddhism.
A new video of him kissing a little child has gone viral on the Internet. The event has now sparked widespread public outrage. Rogan, too, showed his displeasure with his holiness. On his show, Joe Rogan questioned if the Dalai Lama should face jail time for his controversial event.
Rogan was surprised after bringing up the story on the podcast. Joe Rogan talked about how the Dalai Lama is renowned for stirring out entertaining and controversial remarks but kissing a little child has gone too far. Rogan questions why the Dalai Lama would instruct the youngster to stick out his tongue in the first place. Apparently, putting out one’s tongue is a traditional welcome in Tibet.
Sticking out one’s tongue is a sign of respect or agreement and was often used as a greeting in traditional Tibetan culture. However, nowhere does it state that sucking the tongue is a part of the ritual. According to Rogan, the Dalai Lama’s actions were improper in his position and stature as a great spiritual leader.
