Jones is set to return on March 4 against Ciryl Gane for the vacant heavyweight title. The legendary return will be to solidify Jones’ claim as the P4P GOAT in the UFC and all of MMA. Jones took a three-year-long lay-off from the sport to gain mass, and prepare for his return to the octagon as a heavyweight.
Initially, talks of scheduling the former light heavyweight champion against Francis Ngannou were in progress. However, due to long-term contractual disagreements with the UFC, Ngannou shockingly departed from the UFC. Thus, leaving Ciryl Gane as the next best fighter to compete Jones against.
