Former MMA world champion and UFC title challenger Jake Shields hit back at trans actor Elliot Page after his reaction to a child’s question. Shields does not believe in children being introduced to gender identity at such a young age. Page was recently present at a Book Festival where he was answering questions about gender equality and the LGBTQ+ community.
He reacted to Page comforting a gender-nonconforming child who was tired of not being identified. Page reacted by saying, “I wouldn’t tell them that they are being insensitive and unkind and not being a very good friend”. Shields took to Twitter where he expressed his disappointment with the situation. He tweeted, “Arrest every person in this room and charge them with child abuse”.
Shields has always been against these ideologies and has spoken about them multiple times. He also sold his shares in multiple companies because they are opposed to the Parental Rights Law. The law prohibits children from being instructed about gender identity and sexual orientation till the third grade. Even more the reason why Shields was disappointed about the interaction between Page and the 10-year-old.
Recently, Shields has also called out trans-fighters and challenged them to fight ten of them in one night. Shields has always had outspoken and controversial political views. Even though controversial Shields is one of the most prominent figures in the MMA community.
