Dana White and Vince McMahon are the faces of the UFC and WWE, respectively. They’ve had a salty relationship for a long time. However, things have changed since the UFC-WWE merger. Now, Dana White revealed an incident when McMahon refused to sign a game-changing deal for the UFC.

During a conversation with Donald Trump Jr., Dana White mentioned his relationship with Vince McMahon. He remembered an incident when the UFC was trying to do a deal with the NBC. McMahon had the final say on the deal, and he outrightly declined to sign it. When asked for a reason, he simply stated his disinterest. White shared how the conversation with McMahon went to Trump Jr. Here is what White said:

We said we're about to do this deal. We're gonna have fights on NBC and everything else. But, you need to sign off on it. And he was like 'Yeah, I'm not gonna do that'. We were like Why? 'Ahn, I'm just not interested in it. I don't like the idea you guys being on USA network. So, the whole deal blows up.

Dana White further stated that this was one of many encounters with Vince McMahon. UFC is the leading mixed martial arts promotion with a growing net worth of $12 billion. As such, UFC and WWE were competitors for a long time as combat sports were concerned. However, White said that he never saw McMahon as competition, but to McMahon, everyone was competition.

Currently, Dana White and Vince McMahon are working together due to the merger of the UFC and the WWE. White acts as the CEO of UFC, while McMahon serves the newly merged company (TKO) as the executive chairman.

Dana White finally broke silence on Francis Ngannou’s performance against Tyson Fury

Francis Ngannou fought Tyson Fury in one of the grandest crossover fights in the history of combat sports. The UFC CEO Dana White has always criticized Ngannou for pursuing a boxing match. He once stated that the fight was a gimmick fight. But now, he appreciated the Cameroonian for his performance.

The feud between Dana White and Francis Ngannou was known worldwide. Ngannou leaving the UFC left White in frustration. However, he put aside his ego and appreciated the former UFC champion for his showcase against Tyson Fury. He was amazed that Ngannou went the distance in the fight. Here is what he said:

The fact that he went 10 rounds with Tyson Fury is crazy. He [Francis Ngannou] just went 10 rounds with Tyson Fury, Conor [McGregor] made it 9 or 10 with Floyd... I don’t know what the hell is going on. It’s crazy. I didn’t see the fight, but the fact that he went 10 rounds is unbelievable.

Anyhow, it was appreciative of the UFC CEO Dana White to give props to the fighter who left his company. Francis Ngannou left the UFC in January 2023. Now, after his massive success in the ring with Tyson Fury, he was looking forward to fighting in the PFL.
