GSP was clearly winning the fight, at the end of the second round Diaz went back to his corner and said, “Win or lose, he still hits like a bitch.” Although Diaz was trying to keep his “Gangster” persona intact, these words clearly showed that he knew there was no chance he could have won that fight.

The fight went on for five full rounds, and GSP conveniently won the fight. Diaz lost his chance at the title, and he realized that he was nowhere close to the level of the former champ, Georges St-Pierre, and rightfully so Diaz never competed for the title again.
