Aljamain Sterling & Petr Yan will meet again in UFC 273, the co-main event, which will take place at the VyStar Veteran Memorial Arena in Jacksonville.

In the thirteen months since their first fight at UFC 259, the rivalry has heated up, with both of them exchanging brutal comments about the other and even nearly ending in a fistfight at UFC 273 weigh-ins.

Aljamain is ready to defend his title against Petr. Both the reigning bantamweight champion and his opponent made weight at Friday’s official weigh-ins for UFC 273 in Jacksonville. Sterling was ranked at 134.5, while Yan was ranked at 134.

With even Alexander Volkanovski and The Korean Zombie making weight too, this means that tomorrow’s Main Card Co-Main Events will be held, guaranteeing the destruction of two opponents and a spectacular show for the audience.

Sterling then became the butt of jokes and criticism, viewed by some fans as an illegitimate title holder.

The Russian fighter was disqualified after he used an illegal knee during their first fight. His opponent was awarded the title by default. To show their support, the former’s fans rallied behind their idol.

Yan appeared to be in complete control of the contest going into the fourth round. He was leading on two of three scorecards when he gave the brutal and intentional knee.

Sterling, still with one knee down, was totally floored and, after medical staff treated him, declared him incapable to continue.

Yan is the heavy favorite for tomorrow’s rematch and is determined to prove his superiority.After making weight for the UFC 273, Petr Yan took the time to thank his fans and the loyalty shown towards him. He says, “Guys, I want to say thank you for supporting me and for believing in me. Thank you so much I appreciate it.”
