Dominick Cruz is an inspiring story for any fighter who’s withstanding injuries and going through what can be an athlete’s darkest phase of his life. Cruz bounced back from a long line of injuries in the past decade and after he was fully healthy, returned to become the bantamweight champion of the world.
Even after losing the title and being unable to get it back, Cruz started it all again from the bottom of the rankings to fight up and coming fighters like Casey Kenny and tonight, Pedro Munhoz. Against Munhoz tonight at UFC 269, Cruz has looked better than ever, as he not only bounced back from a knockdown and lost the first round, but then also won the next two rounds along with the fight in an absolute fashion.
Cruz is a veteran of the sport, and he is looking to once again become the champion. Cruz was eyeing a fight against another former champion, Jose Aldo. Aldo recently competed in a fight against Rob Font, and he looked absolutely stunning in this one. He outclassed Font and won the fight rather convincingly.

UFC’s interim bantamweight champion, Petr Yan supports the idea of Cruz vs Aldo. After Cruz’s performance at UFC 269, he Tweeted, “Aldo VS Cruz is fight to make.”
Even during the post-fight conference, Cruz stated that he won’t reject a fight against Aldo, and he is more than willing to test his skills against “The king of Rio.” Nothing has been made official yet, but if this fight were to happen then it could be a battle for the ages, both these fighters looked absolutely wonderful in their recent fights, and the winner would most likely find his name in the title picture.
