The official poster for UFC Vegas 42: Max Holloway vs Yair Rodriguez is out and it looks amazing!
Max Holloway and Yair Rodriguez
The much-awaited featherweight war between UFC fighters Max Holloway and Yair Rodriguez has finally taken its fruition as both are set off to fight on November 13, in the UFC Apex, Las Vegas. This clash took its own time as it was meant to be scheduled back in July but had to be called off due to Holloway’s injury.
Max Holloway was once a 4-time UFC featherweight champion, not now anymore but the best days of the “Blessed” aren’t past behind him yet. At only 28 years of age, Holloway has defeated legends and upcoming hot prospects simultaneously, with wins over Jose Aldo twice, Frankie Edgar, Bryan Ortega, and last victory coming off from having a unanimous decision victory over Calvin Kattar, a fight with the highest significant striking differential in UFC’s record book.
Holloway’s opponent, Yair “El Pantera” Rodriguez, is making his return after a two-year layoff, he last fought in October of 2019 when he defeated seasoned UFC striker Jeremy Stephens via unanimous decision in a 3-round war. With just 16 fights in his record, Rodriguez has been nothing short of a legend killer himself, he is responsible for crashing the great BJ Penn’s return party in 2017 by knocking him out in the second round, and handing UFC featherweight veteran Korean Zombie the worst knockout loss.

BT-Sport, the home of UFC for all the fans across Ireland and the UK, first posted the official poster on their social media handles including Twitter, captioned “Expect. Fireworks! Your official poster for Holloway vs Rodriguez fight has dropped [fire emoji] What a fight! Who ya got?” The poster looks superb with blue and red tints spread across the fighters’ faces and body respectively and the names written in the red color font. A huge initial VS, meaning versus, could be at the center of the poster with a holistic view.
The fight is without a doubt going to be a war of strikes for the way their fight has always gone, and the way they put on the show. Holloway is one of the best boxers on the UFC’s current roster but doesn’t shy away from throwing some great kicks when the time calls for unpredictability. Rodriguez on the other hand is a kicking specialist due to his expertise in Taekwondo. So one can expect him to turn the heat in a kickboxer’s stance. Regardless, both the fighters are going all out on each other.
The fight features other fights as well including UFC women’s flyweight Cynthia Calvillo going against Andrea Lee in the co-main event and UFC middleweights Kevin Holland and Kyle Daukas looking to finish their business in a rematch since the first fight that happened recently in early October went an unfortunate no contest due to accidental clash of heads.
