Rampage Jackson talks about UFC Hall of fame

UFC is no stranger to getting into disrepute with their legends. This time it is former light heavyweight champion Rampage Jackson.

There is no doubt that a fighter with the resume of Rampage Jackson deserves to be in the UFC Hall Of Fame. However, the fighter himself does not value the honor. Jackson recently went on the recent episode of MMA Hour and spoke to the host Ariel Helwani about his fall out with the Ultimate Fighting Championship and its president Dana White.

Rampage Jackson was in the UFC for eight years. The fighter was one of the biggest PPV stars and has sold several tickets for the promotion in the 2000s. Rampage fought in the UFC for the first time in 2007. Since then the fighter went on to have 11 fights under the banner. Things did not end too well between Rampage and the promotion as they had a major disagreement regarding payouts.

In a recent interview when asked about the UFC Hall of Fame, “No, f**k them. I don’t fight for the Hall of Fame. What do you get for being in the Hall of Fame?” said Rampage on the MMA Hour. The fighter sees no good coming out of being inducted into the hall of fame in MMA organizations.

Currently, Rampage has collaborated with the Triller Fight Club for a cross-over event where boxers take on MMA fighters. Rampage might also fight the former champion, Shannon Briggs, in a boxing match after their recent scuffle at the Triad Combat Event. Jackson believes the UFC owe him money for the work he has put in to build the brand.

Rampage believes unlike the Hall of Fame inductions in other sports, kike baseball, football, MMA Fighters do not have any pensions for fighting under organizations. “I say, ‘Honor with a f**king check. MMA fighters, we are not like baseball players, we are not like football players, we don’t get no pension or nothing like that,” said Rampage.

“Those guys get in the Hall of Fame, they’ve got pensions and all that sh*t. Honor me with a check. I got a lot of injuries and pain for making the UFC a lot of money and selling a lot of pay-per-views, selling a lot of tickets. What do I give a f**k about being in the Hall of Fame? To be famous? I didn’t want to be famous.”
