“I’m sucking in blood,” Sean Brady recaps scrap against Michael Chiesa at UFC Vegas 43
Sean Brady at UFC Vegas 43
Undefeated welterweight fighter Sean Brady was not expecting to be covered in blood when he took on top-ranked welterweight Michael Chiesa at UFC Vegas 43.
Sean Brady is now 15-0 in his entire MMA career and is already receiving a lot of praise four fights into the UFC. The fighter is yet to lose against an opponent in the UFC octagon. In his most recent outing, Brady took on top-ranked fighter Michael Chiesa. Both the fighters gave it all with Brady taking the win after three rounds of throwing down.
In a recent episode MMA Hour, Brady spoke to Ariel Helwani about his scrap against Chiesa and his broken nose. Sean was not completely impressed with his performance in the co-main event and believes he could’ve done way better if not for his physical challenges. “I was just sucking blood the entire fight,” said Sean.
“I wanted to do more and show more, because I’ve been off for a while and I had two cancelled fights and an injury. I just wanted to show more of who I am.” Sean Brady was supposed to fight lightweight fighter Kevin Lee at UFC 264 but the fight was canceled due to injuries.
“I want to be the best every time,” says Sean Brady
Breaking a nose is no surprise to an MMA fighter. Likewise, Brady has been hurt several times before in the nose. At UFC Vegas 43, when Michael Chiesa clipped his opponent, Brady’s nose was compromised. Still, Sean went on to put on an amazing show and beat the veteran.
“I looked at his back and there was so much blood. Man it was pretty bad. It was dripping into my throat and so I am trying to breathe and while I am breathing, I am sucking in blood,” explained Brady about his challenge during the fight after breaking his nose.
Sean is now put himself in the map. Though the welterweight division is a very competitive one, Brady is confident he can rise to the top very soon. Recently, UFC superstar, Khamzat Chimaev called out Brady after his amazing performance against Chiesa.
