Singer India Arie slams Joe Rogan for using “N-word” in podcast, demands her music be taken off from Spotify
Joe Rogan gets slammed by India Arie for using the N-word
Joe Rogan is catching more heat than ever. Following his Spotify controversy, the UFC commentator is now being slammed by singer India Arie for his use of the N-word in his podcast and other racist comments.
It seems like UFC commentator Joe Rogan just can’t catch a break. First, it was popular singers wanting their music removed from the same platform as Rogan’s podcast after his misinformation on vaccines, now it is singer India Arie who wants her music removed too, but for Joe’s racist comments in the past.
Grammy award-winning singer posted a series of clips on her Instagram explaining why she wants her music removed from the platform. India also attached clips of Joe using the n-word and a clip where he makes a joke about walking into a black neighborhood. Arie is very adamant that she does not want to generate income for a Spotify that pays someone like Joe Rogan.
“He shouldn’t even be uttering the word,” says India Arie in her Joe Rogan rant
“I’m going to leave a short message here about why I decided to ask my music to be pulled off Spotify,” said India on her Instagram account. The videos of her talking about Joe are still on the singer’s Instagram highlights, “Boycott”. “He shouldn’t even be uttering the word. Don’t even say it, under any context. Don’t say it. That’s where I stand. I have always stood there. I empathize with the people who are leaving for the COVID misinformation reasons and I think that they should.”
Arie also attached a montage of Joe using the N-word from his past. The singer also referred to an episode where Rogan used the phrase, “it was the planet of the apes” when speaking about a black neighborhood. “I also think that Joe Rogan has the right to say whatever he wants to say. I also think that I have the right to say whatever I want to say.”
Joe recently posted an apology video after singers like Neil Young, John Mitchell, wanted their music out of Spotify. “I don’t always get it right. I will do my best to try to balance out these more controversial viewpoints with other people’s perspectives so we can maybe find a better point of view.”
