Leon Edwards‘ dietitian is not very happy with Logan Paul‘s PRIME. The official sports drink of the UFC was rejected by the professional and has since taken multiple jabs at the billion-dollar product. He took a shot at the drink again in his recent video on Instagram. Here is what happened:

In the video, Jordan Sullivan, Leon Edwards‘ dietitian highlighted the process of how Edwards rehydrated after cutting weight for a UFC fight. Leon Edwards faced Colby Covington for his UFC welterweight title defense.

Hence Sullivan made a comprehensive reel highlighting the entire process of rehydrating the body after cutting weight. In that video is a quick segment where Jordan Sullivan introduces PRIME before subtly tossing them into the bin. The captions in the video read: “Prime Hydration Is Not Consumed.”

Sullivan had claimed in a previous video that Prime hydration was “literally the worst” and raised concerns about its components. Sullivan emphasized that PRIME lacks essential components for rehydration, with its sodium and potassium content insufficient to enter the bloodstream. He pointed out that the nutrients must pass through the stomach to the large intestine before entering the bloodstream.

This critique challenged PRIME’s effectiveness as a sports hydration drink. Despite PRIME’s success and brand deals, Sullivan’s remarks raised concerns about its suitability for athletes.

Meanwhile, PRIME Hydration faced another significant setback when Logan called a fitness expert a “St*pid Virgin” in a video. The fitness influencer, Derek, responded with a 3-hour video dismantling Paul’s comments. The controversy unfolded on YouTube and sparked discussions on social media. The incident raised concerns about the impact on the brand’s image and potential financial repercussions.

Logan Paul’s PRIME official sponsors multiple high-level athletes

In June 2023, Logan Paul’s sports drink company PRIME announced that UFC fighters Israel Adesanya and Alex Volkanovski would be the first athletes to represent the brand. Volkanovski was the featherweight champion and Adesanya was the middleweight champion. PRIME has also sponsored other athletes, including Manchester City striker Erling Haaland and Aston Villa Women’s forward Alisha Lehmann.

Logan Paul’s PRIME drink quickly became one of the most popular hydration beverages on the internet. Within just one year of launch, the company generated $250 million in retail sales worldwide, with $45 million in January alone.

Marketed as a sports drink, PRIME gained popularity through effective marketing and the collaboration of Logan Paul and KSI. PRIME became the official partner of the UFC Performance Institute and the promotion’s official sports drink, replacing BodyArmor.

Logan Paul responded to claims that Prime energy drinks are unsafe for children, addressing concerns about the product’s potential harm to young consumers. Paul defended Prime against allegations, including calls for an FDA investigation, asserting the product’s safety and challenging criticisms. Despite accusations, PRIME Hydration Drink has been FDA-approved, suggesting compliance with safety standards. It will be interesting to see where the company is headed in the future.
