Ciryl Gane seems to be a major figure in France. The former UFC interim heavyweight champion has not fought since his victory over Serghei Spivac in Paris. However, the Frenchman did recently make his grand appearance at the ongoing Paris Olympics. This was right after his upcoming matchup with #3 heavyweight Alexander Volkov was declared.
Social media and world television caught Ciryl Gane making a public appearance at the 2024 Paris Olympics. The French UFC star has been actively promoting the event for a while now. He was named an honorary torchbearer for the games which is a significant honor for the 34-year-old fighter.
Last year, Gane took on Jon Jones for the vacant heavyweight title championship. The Frenchman lasted two minutes before being submitted by the former light-heavyweight champion via guillotine choke at UFC 285. Now Gane is ready for a comeback with his upcoming showdown at UFC 308.
Gane will take on Alexander Volkov this October in Abu Dhabi. This fight will be a rematch of their previous encounter in 2021 where Gane walked away with the win via unanimous decision.
