The former UFC Welterweight title challenger and number 5th ranked Welterweight fighter, Stephen Thompson is going to face the number 10th ranked Welterweight fighter, Belal Muhammad at the co-main event of UFC Vegas 45. Thompson is eyeing for his second title run and even after approaching 40’s, ‘Wonderboy’ is showing no signs of slowing down.

He entered the title contention by securing two consecutive wins against Vicente Luque and Geoff Neal. But his winning streak was halted by Gilbert Burns in his last fight at UFC 264. Now Stephen Thompson wants to make a strong case for the title shot with a win against Belal Muhammad and he is ready to get It going by any means possible.

Belal Muhammad used his relentless wrestling in the last fight and Stephen Thompson is coming into this fight with a loss against Gilbert Burns in his last fight at UFC 264. Thompson is one of the most elite strikers in the Welterweight division but he understands the strengths of his opponents very well.

Talking about the same in his recent interview with Low Kick MMA, Stephen says, “I feel like I do have the height and reach advantage but again I’ve seen him fight taller and longer guys and he works them. Thompson added, “He’s good everywhere. He’s a really tough guy, so I do believe that at some point he’s going to be shooting, obviously. He’s done some work recently with Gilbert Burns, so he might take a note out of Gilbert Burns’ book and go straight in for the takedown but I’m ready for it.”

Wonderboy has recently signed a multi-fight deal with UFC and he wants to set some bizarre records in the promotion with his future fights. Talking about the same in his latest interview for MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani, Stephen Thompson says,

“I’m kind of surprising myself. I have always loved fighting, but I never thought that I would be where I am today and still feeling the way I do, and obviously, that has a lot to do with the coaches and the way I’m training so hats off to those guys. I want to break records, man. I wanna be the oldest guy who ever fought in the UFC. They are going to have to bring out a senior division or something. It’s the plan.”
